Martyn started Abacus removals as one-man-and-a-van operation back in 1996. He soon found that customers loved his can-do attitude approach to getting the job done while still being mindful of how stressful people feel when they’re moving home or business.

Abacus is a small family business, and this is well reflected in their personal touch. Martyn, Claire and Marcus cleared my elderly parents’ house and moved them from South Wales to Berkshire. I genuinely can’t rate them highly enough. They were delightful - kind, caring and patient throughout the process. The team were flexible, working around my parents’ significant needs, and the communications were great pre-move. Martyn, Claire and Marcus ensured my parents felt comfortable through an inevitably stressful event, worked extremely hard, and treated my parents’ possessions with respect. The price was very fair and great value for money. I also enjoyed my chats with Martyn and his family when on those rare occasions they had a minute to catch their breath. Absolute superstars during our move. Had our home packed up in a staggeringly quick time, then things went massively sideways due to other parties involved (solicitors) which held up us getting the keys. But, Martin and his team were very patient and understanding, did not give us any hassle while we tried to salvage the completion and waited for over 6 hours to be able to unload late on a Friday night. Everything accounted for and arrived our new home in one piece. Can't recommend them highly enough

Abacus were recommended to me by a close friend. I am so glad I chose Abacus for my house move. Out of 5 quotes i received, they offered the best value for money and they were very understanding of the complex nature of my move. My partner and I both sold our properties to buy one together. As both of us had quite a few plant pots and some of them very heavy he suggested they move them the day before our completion date. The people we were buying off were happy with this arrangement. Martyn and his team then moved my partner on the Friday and my property on the Saturday. The weekend we moved was on 18/02/22, which was the weekend we had a red weather alert. Martyn checked with us is the morning to make sure we still wanted to go ahead. Their communication was excellent. Martyn had our best interests at heart at each stage of the moving process. In fact everyone in his team, Marcus, Peter, Andrew and his wife Claire were all amazing. They were very efficient packing the vans and made sure all large pieces of furniture were in the right location before they left. They couldn't do enough for us. They gave us a 'Rolls Royce ' service. I would highly recommend them to anyone who are looking for a quality service with excellent value for money.
